Romberger, at this place, died Thursday, September 12, at Lykens, where he had gone to visit another daughter. Mr. Troutman's face and figure had become familiar to the people of the town and community. He was an earnest Christian gentleman, and during his stay here had earned the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He was born iu Northumberland county, near Uniontown, December 4, 1818, and was married to Catherine Hepler, who died in the year 1888. Their union was blessed with an issue of eleven children, nine of whom remain to mourn the loss of both parents. Those who survive are: Henry, of Kansas; A. H., of Port Treverton; William of Meiserville; Mary, intermarried with II. B. Markley, of Millersburg; Louisa, intermarried with Cyrus Romberger, Lykens; Emma intermarried with J. A. Romberger, Elizabethville; Jane, intermarried with W. W. Derrick, Herndon; Agues, intermarried with J. W. Rine, Nebraska; Ida, unmarried, Kansas. The two deceased children were D. H. Troutman, who died at Lykens about nine years ago, and a son which died in infancy. The cause of his death was cholera morbus and old age. He was a life-long member of the Evangelical denomination having united with the church at the age of ten years. Most of his life was devoted to farming, near Aline, Snyder county. His age was 82 years, 9 months and 8 days. Funeral services were conducted at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cyrus Romberger, at Lykens, last Saturday, by Rev. C. N. Wolfe of this place, who was also assisted by Rev. Chubb. Interment took place at Uniontown.
