Ancestry.com offers: "Burnham Name Meaning - English: habitational name from any of several places called Burnham. Those in Buckinghamshire (Burnham Beeches), Norfolk (various villages), and Essex (Burnham-on-Crouch) are named with Old English burna 'stream' + ham 'homestead'.
