Born on June 20, 1941, in Manset, Maine, he was the son of Walter H. and Marie E. (McEachern) Murphy. In his early years, Pete worked with his brother, Peenie, at service stations in Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor. He devoted over 57 years of his life to driving the Swan's Island school bus to MDI High School, a role he truly cherished. In addition, he and his wife Ann proudly owned and operated White Birches Campground on Seal Cove Rd. in Southwest Harbor, from approximately 1984 to 1999, where they made lifelong friends."
