He was born July 4, 1939 in Elkhart to Raymond and Loween (Fisher) Shanholt. He married Bonnie M. Johnson on June 15, 1958. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, 2 sons, Michael (Tina) Shanholt of Elkhart and Joseph (Lori) Shanholt of Brownsburg, IN; 4 grandchildren, Michelle (Carl) Shanholt, Steven (Alea) Shanholt, Matt Shanholt and Nicki Shanholt; 3 great-grandchildren, Gabe, Eli and Brayden; brother in law, Bill Edwards; nieces, Jennifer (Shannon) Callaway, Suzanne (Mike) Stajkowski, Candy (Rod) Huskey, Deb Bentlage and special friends, Lois Bostian and Al (Marie) Kidder. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sherry Edwards. Dave graduated from Elkhart High School in 1958 and was the owner of the Sinclair, ARCO and Marathon Service Stations from 1958 to 2000. He also was a partner in Froggys ball service. He was a member and past president of the Elkhart Evening Optimist Club and the Diners Club."
