[51991] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 27 August 2018": "Blue Hill - Glenice Elaine (Gray) Ellis, 94, passed away in her sleep on Aug. 25, 2018, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born on Aug. 10, 1924, in Brewer, the first child of Preston W. and Alice M. (Emery) Gray of Orrington. Following graduation from Brewer High School, Glenice attended business school in Bangor before beginning her career in the banking industry. She was employed by Merrill Trust Co. for many years and, subsequent to her relocation to upstate New York in 1967, by First National Bank of Glens Falls. At the time of her retirement from First National Bank in 1986, she was the manager of the banks transit department. Finding retirement an unsatisfactory pursuit, Glenice began a second career as a nanny for Supreme Court Justice David B. Krogmann and his wife, Barbara, of Glens Falls. For the next 12 years, she cared for their two children, Allyson and Grant, both of whom remained very dear to her throughout her lifetime. In 1999, Glenice returned to her home state of Maine, where she took up residence in Blue Hill. After returning to Maine, she enjoyed many years of friendship with her neighbors and acquaintances throughout Hancock County. She joined the Penobscot United Methodist Church, where she was a regular 'greeter and reader' as well as an accomplished cook for their many church suppers and breakfasts. Glennie was an avid reader and a faithful fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She also shared with her son, John, a passion for NASCAR races. Many happy vacations were spent visiting her son, Joel, and his two children in Florida, where she indulged her beachcombing hobby and collected countless beautiful seashells. Glenice was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Wayne Gray and Frank Gray, and her son, Joel Ellis. She is survived by her daughter, Faye Candage, of East Blue Hill; her son, John Ellis, of Vietnam; sister, Mary Cranker, of Warrensburg, N.Y.; brother, Donald Gray, of Orrington; sisters-in-law, Doris Gray, of Milford, and Patricia Gray, of Orrington; as well as seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and many beloved nieces and nephews."

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 September 1937, p. 45: "Augusta, Sept. 20 - Frank E. Mace, 74, former Democratic Representative to the Legislature and twice State Land Agent and Forest Commissioner, died at his home here yesterday. Among the many positions he held during an active career in politics and civic affairs Mr. Mace was local chairman of NRA and PHA committees, former president of the Augusta Kiwanis Club, and served several years as president of the Augusta General Hospital. He also was identified with many local charitable and philanthropic organizations. He was born in Aurora and came to Augusta in 1911 as State Representative from his class towns. At the conclusion of that session he was appointed Land Agent and Forest Commissioner by Gov. Frederick W. Plaisted, which position he filled for two years, returning to it again in 1915 by appointment of Gov. Oakley C Curtis. He was elected to the Legislature again in 1935 as Representative from Augusta. On Oct. 12, 1920 he was married to Mrs. Hulda Sewall of Augusta, who survives him, also a son, Bryan Mace of Gardiner and a daughter of his first marriage. Mr. Mace also was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Augusta Abenaki Club and the Augusta Country Club."
An Internet correspondent (Jan A. Koso - KosoGenealogy@aol.com) stated in 2003: "Frank Elivn7(Ansel Jefferson6, George5, William4, Richard3, Andrew2, Robert1) Mace was born Aurora, Maine, 11 June 1859(?), and died Augusta, Maine, 20 September 1937. He married Great Pond Plantation, Maine, 19 January 1885, Ruby Gray Williams. It is appears that the couple divorced in the early 1930s. As of 1941 Hulda S. (-----) is listed as widow of Frank E. and residing house 31 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine. He was a State Senator and later the Forest Commissioner." Ms. Koso also provided his ancestry and other information; she has two dates for Frank's birth, 11 June 1859(?) and 11 June 1864.

[16095] Harald m. (1) Thora Thorsdottir, daughter of Thorberg (?), before 1045. He reigned as Harald II, surnamed "Haardraade" ("Ruthless"). At age 15 he fled Norway, following the Battle of Stiklestad in which King Olaf (his half-brother) died. He led Varangian forces in Italy, Sicily and North Africa, and amassed enornous treasure in the middle east. After his nephew Magnus died, he subjugated Denmark and in 1066 invaded England. King Harold of England defeated him before rushing to his own defeat at Hastings. See "1066: The Year of the Three Battles," Frank McLynn (London, England: Pimlico/Random House, 1999), Chapters 3, 6 & 8 et ad passim. Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_III_of_Norway.
