[17336] Samuel m. Abigail Wight of Penobscot, ME (b. 27 June 1799) and had Edward (1825-1829), Abby A. (b. 13 April 1834), Sivilina (?)(1837-1863) and Nelson (19 March 1843). Samuel and Abigail are buried in the Carpenter-Wardwell Cemetery along route 175 opposite the Bay Methodist Church. Abigail d. 20 June 1854 according to her gravestone. In 1820 Samuel was Master of the schooner "Beulah" and was a Master Mariner when he m. (2) Alice. In 1828 Samuel bought the grist mill at Mill Stream from Major Peletiah Leach for $200; he sold it with the dam and site in 1853 for $200 to Eliakim Hutchings and Jeremiah L. Wardwell. A correspondent states Samuel served in the War of 1812 (pension #WC-30171), citing " Maine Families in 1790, Vol 4," (Maine Genealogical Society Special Publication No. 18 - Camden, ME: Picton Press.
