[53289] Marjorie is daughter of Wallace Reuben Carter (b. in 1891) & Rebecca Belle Kimball (b. in1885; m. 2 August 1913 in Somerville, Middlesex Co., MA). Her obituary: "Stonington - Marjorie E. Billings, 89, of Stonington, died at a Bangor nursing home on Nov. 15, 2013. She was born May 12, 1924, in Somerville, Mass., to Wallace R. and Rebecca (Kimball) Carter. She grew up and attended school in Somerville. Marge attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, upon graduation from Somerville High School. She then enlisted in the Women's Army Corps and was stationed in Boston. Marge married Winfield T. Billings in 1945 and they lived in Somerville for five years, spending summers in Stonington. In 1951, they moved to Stonington and then moved to Ellsworth, in 1971, where Marge made many friends through church activities and her work as a waitress. In 1993, they moved back to Stonington to enjoy their retirement. Marge is survived by sons, Lawrence and his wife, Jane, of Stonington, Mark and his wife, Jeannie, of Ellsworth, David and his fiancée, Sharon Bates, of Brewer and Burnham and Scott of Ellsworth. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Thompson, Susan Thompson-Weed and her husband, Raymond, of Stonington, and Wendy Young and her husband, Mike, of Ellsworth. Marge is survived by 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Marge will also be missed by special friends, Bob and Dick Powers of Deer Isle and Kathy Billings of Bangor. In addition to her husband of 66 years, Marge was predeceased by her parents; brother, Wallace K. Carter; and sister, Ruth Alice (Carter) Briggs. She was also predeceased by son-in-law, Allen Thompson."

He was born on Little Deer Isle, March 13, 1892, son ol Rodney and Imogene (Black) Eaton. At the time of his retirement he was the owner of Eaton's Boat Shop in Castine. He was the captain on two successive occasions when he won the Retired Skipper's Race out of Castine. He is survived by two sons, Alonzo of Castine, Basil of Orono; three daughters, Christina Collar of Castine, Livonia Eaton of Northfield, Mass., Mary Bowden of Castine; two half-daughters, Florence Collar of Northfield, Mass., Bessie Bates of Worcester, Mass.; one brother, Ullyses Eaton of Bristol, Conn.; two half sisters, Livonia Small of Springfield, Mass., Edith Moyer of New Hampshire; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren." Mace and Ada had Christine Mildred Eaton (1910-2005), Alonzo Rodney Eaton (1913-2000), Livonia Edith Eaton (1916-1990), Basil Devereux Eaton (1919-1987) & Mary S. Eaton (1921-2015).

[283] Lucy Jane and her husband John F. Peterson are shown in the 1860 census of Penobscot, Hancock Co., ME in the home of her parents along with Herman Echinagucia, age 6. Her father willed Lucy Jane all his land on the north side of the Castine to Blue Hill road in the town of Penobscot, along with his residence and personal property. Her brother, Amos, was willed about 30 acres on the south side of the road. A postal card 2 Oct 1902 from "Uncle Eben" states his new addrss is Rural Route 3, Minneapolis, MN - is he the half-brother to her mother? Lucy Jane is in the household of Fred M. Conner, her son-in-law, in the 1910 census of Castine, ME, age 76 and a widow. Lucy is said to be buried in the front lawn of her home at 175 Dunbar Road (the road from Castine to Blue Hill) in Penobscot, ME - the present barn (painted red behind the current house) is said to be her original house/home.
