[1171] "Desc. of John Irish, The Immigrant, 1629-1693), and Allied Families," by Willis Luther Irish and Stella Bertha (Putnam) Irish, Freeport, ME: Dingley Press, 1964, pp.7-8 lists James as Sheriff of Dorsetshire! George E. Irish, "John Irish: His Life and Ancestors" (Balt.: Gateway Press, 1991) DISPROVES THE ANCESTRY given in this book, but I have included it here because there MAY be an ultimate connection with ancient lines which it contains.
