Born in Wayne county, Mr. Aber had been an Akron resident 35 years. He retired 20 years ago from the W. E. Wright Co. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. John Goodman of Ft. Smith, Ark.

From 1156 he restored the lost territories of the ancient kingdom of Deheubarth and established more or less peaceful coexistence between ferocious rival powers. In 1172 Henry II appointed him as justiciar for South Wales. Rhys is credited with the first eisteddfod and under his patronage the Welsh arts flourished.
"A blood thirsty war of succession between Rhys's sons brought grief and tragedy to his final years. Rhys negotiated an unlikely alliance with William de Braose in an effort to establish his older son, Gruffydd, as his heir. Gruffydd married Matilda, the marcher lord's daughter. In 1189 Gruffydd fought and captured his younger half-brother Maelgwn, assisted by his father. Gruffydd then handed Maelgwn over to William de Braose, who held him in captivity for three years.
"Rhys failed to reconcile his sons before plague took his life in 1197: Deheubarth disintegrated. Gruffydd gained a short-lived advantage in the disastrous family feud and when he died in 1201 his sons Owain and Rhys looked to another rising star for protection."

[51961] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 24 October 2022": "Lincoln - William E Hanscom, 73, passed away peacefully October 20, 2022. He was born February 15, 1949, in Lincoln, Maine, the son of Ralph Hanscom and Molly (Marston) Hanscom. Bill attended Lincoln schools and graduated 1968 from Mattanawcook Academy. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Correctional Specialist with the 208 Military Police at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Following his enlistment, he returned to Maine where he attended and graduated from the University of Maine with an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement. Surprisingly, law enforcement would not be the career path he chose. Instead he was hired by Maine Mack, Inc. where he was trained in heavy duty truck part sales. The rest is history. Bill worked in the auto parts field until his retirement from Carl's Auto Parts. He loved camping at Hadley Pont Campground, watching the sunsets on the Point, working on the Chevelle with his son, and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucinda "Cindy" Hanscom; his children, Kyle Hanscom, and Jennifer Coffin and her husband, TJ Coffin; his grandchildren, Emma, Andrew and Natalie Hanscom, Alissa Coffin, and Maranda Mason; great-grandson, Everett; several nieces and nephews; and his Hadley Point camping family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Peggy Cole and Dale Leavitt."

Christina Schneider, mother of Anna Catharina Hench, was born about 1714 in Wurttenberg, Germany. She came with her husband to Philadelphia September 1, 1749 on the "Chesterfield." They lived on their Vincent Township property until 1753, when they purchased some land in Pikeland Township. In 1770, they bought a farm from John Millhouse, also at Pikeland. As they farmed the land, Johannes also continued his trade as a blacksmith. When officers were staying at their house in 1777, two of them had a dispute and were ready to settle the matter by dueling, but Christina intervened and prevented this from happening. They had nine children, and she served as a nurse at Yellow Springs, Chester County, PA, during the Revolutionary War. She contracted typhus from her hospital work and died of it in 1790 at Yellow Springs. Both she and her husband are cited by the DAR for patriotic service in the Revolutionary War." Ancestry.com offers: "Schneider Name Meaning - German . . . : occupational name for a tailor, literally 'cutter', from Middle High German snider, German Schneider, Yiddish shnayder. The same term was sometimes used to denote a woodcutter. This name is widespread throughout central and eastern Europe."
