[697] Carr P. Collins, "Royal Ancestors of Magna Charta Barons" (Dallas, 1959, p.121) gives an alternate wife for Alan MacDonal: "He married, first, Ragnhild (Hilda) of the Isles, daughter of Reginald, Lord of the Isles, or, he married Margaret of Scotland", daughter of David ("Crusader"), Earl of Huntingdon (d. 17 June 1219), and wife Maud Kevelioc of Chester. Cf. "Trans. of the Dumfrieshire and Galloway Nat. Hist. Soc.," Vol. 49. "Ancestral Roots..." (Balt., 1992) 38-26 states she is "a dau. of Hugh de Lacy, Earl of Ulster (died 1243) by his first wife, Lesceline, dau. of Bertram de Verdun (Orpen, Ireland under the Normans III chart p. 286) or dau. or sister of Roger de Lacy of Pontefract..."

[55637] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 25 January 2024: "Ellsworth - Edward L. DeWitt, 92, was reunited with the love of his life, Patricia, on Jan. 20, 2024. Born March 10, 1931, Ed was the son of Elmer and Alice (Lake) DeWitt. Upon graduation from Ellsworth High School, he entered the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Following his military service, he returned to Ellsworth, where he became a police officer for the City of Ellsworth and was the driving force in forming the volunteer police force for the city. Edward served on the Senator Hale Hose Company, Ellsworth Fire Department, for a few years in the 1960s, before starting a job at the Ellsworth Post Office, working his way up from carrying a mail bag to being the Postmaster. After 30 years he retired, and a very short time later, at the suggestion of Pat, he started a new career as Operations Manager for Downeast Transportation, where he worked until he was 90 years old. He only retired then because he was tired of getting up at 3 a.m. every morning. Ed and Patricia were married on Aug. 28,1953, and he lost her in 2013. Though they never had children, they had a huge place in their hearts for all animals, and their cats and dogs over the years were treated like royalty. In March of 2014, Eds cat, Babe, was credited with saving his life by waking him in the middle of the night. Ed was in medical distress, and Babe stood on Ed kneading him until he woke and realized he needed help. This was mentioned in a book by a local author. Ed loved all the people in his neighborhood, and he loved driving, working, and eating at Dennys and later Marthas Diner. He made everyone he met a member of his family. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and everyone who knew him. He truly was the patriarch of our family, and the world was a better place with 'Uncle Ed' as a part of it."
