[4144] Pearl is daughter of Montford H. Kennedy and Lydia P. Piper {per W.H.Nolin}. Another file states Pearl m. William H. Batterson. The obituary of Mrs Pearl L. Kennedy, age 86, published in the Mansfield, Ohio News-Journal 20 Dec 1965, p. 3, states her survivors include Mrs. Carl Paullin in Lakeville, RD1 and that Pearl is buried in Vermillion Cemetery, Hayesville, Ashland Co., OH - therefore the identification of Carl's wife may be in error.
[14758] William's marrriage record states he is son of Cyrus Moody and Vila Sikes. "Springfield Republican, 17 August 1904," p. 8: "William A Moody, 69, died at his home on South street yesterday morning after a few daysÂ’ illness with heart disease. Mr Moody was a veteran of the civil war and had served throughout the four years. He enlisted in Co F of the 27th Massachusetts regiment. Few soldiers experienced hardships so severe as those which Mr Moody underwent, and survived. He received a wound in the right leg, from which he never fully recovered, and suffered severely in both Libby and Andersonville prison. Mr Moody was born in this city and had lived in Northampton ever since the civil war. He was a plumber and worked 23 years for the firm of Eames & Sprague of Northampton. He was married in 1874 to Miss Julia Whitcomb, who survives him."
