"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 4 October 2021: "Grand Lake Stream - Edith Gillmor Sprague, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Lake Stream on Sunday, October 3, 2021, with her loving family by her side. Edith was born in Brunswick, ME, on October 6, 1926, daughter of Donald and Marie (Ingersoll) Gillmor.
Edith met and married her husband, George 'Sonny' Sprague, and they moved to Grand Lake Stream. They welcomed their twin daughters, Bonnie and Beth, on October 3, 1947. In 1955, they purchased Indian Rock Camps, which they owned and operated for 19 years. Many memories and great friends were made there. Edith was the treasurer for many years at the Congregational Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and an avid quilter. She donated a quilt for many years to the Grand Lake Stream Folk Art Festival. Edith could also be seen for many years behind the counter at the Pine Tree Store. Edith and Sonny opened the Pine Tree takeout giving their grandchildren all a summer job. The families favorite place was the camp in Dyer Cove. Many memories were made at the camp. We loved her dearly and will sadly miss our glue that bonded us all together. She was our go to for problems, and reveled in our accomplishments. In addition to her parents, Donald and Marie; Edith was predeceased by her husband, Sonny Sprague; siblings, Edna, Phyllis, Charles and Edward; and a son-in-law, Richard. Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie Gagner and husband, Robert, and Beth Pullen; grandchildren, Robert and Jill Gagner, William and Terra Gagner, Marlene and David Greenlaw, and Michelle and David Barnard; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Megan, Lauren, David, Patrick, Kayla, Emily, Bo, Rylan, Mallory, Nick, Rylee, Austin, Sidney and Maddison; a great-great-grandson, David; brother-in-law, Sam Sprague and wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Patsy Stanley; dear friend, Joanne Canal; and many nieces and nephews."
