Born April 26, 1909 in Shelby to Clifford and Tona (Schreck) Laser she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. A 1927 graduate of Shelby High School, she attended Miami University for one year taking Home Economics. She took a year off from school and received her real estate and insurance licenses, selling houses for her father. In 1932 she graduated from Ohio Wesleyan with a degree in math and the following year she married Winfield S. Hancock, who preceded her in death in 1988. After her husband retired in 1973, they enjoyed wintering in Florida and summering on Lake Erie near Huron. They enjoyed fishing and would spend two weeks each summer in Canada. Helen also enjoyed quilting, knitting, needlepoint and reading. She especially enjoyed playing bridge with 'the girls'. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, The Women's Club, social member of the Shelby Country Club, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Survivors include her two sons, Scott (Donna) Hancock of Shelby and John Hancock of Shelby; one granddaughter, Ann Clinger of Upper Sandusky; and her great grandson, Jayson Clinger. In addition to her parents; and husband; she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Hancock. Private graveside services were held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Oakland Cemetery with Reverend Russel Yoak officiating."

[14133] From http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/northumberland/bios2/f320345.txt in 2015: "ABSALOM ZIEGLER, son of Andrew, was born Jan. 12, 1849, below Dalmatia, in Lower Mahanoy township, this county, and in his seventeenth year began to learn the trade of stonemason in his native county. His parents moved to Herndon at that time and there he still resides. He followed his trade until 1907, when he became proprietor of the "Hotel Parrish," in that borough, the owner of the property being his nephew, S. H. McKinny, burgess of Sunbury. Mr. Ziegler has been twice married. His first marriage, which took place in 1875, was to Maria Rebuck, daughter of Isaac Rebuck. She died in 1891, aged thirty-nine years, the mother of children as follows: Isaac I., Lizzie M., Edward, and Alfred N. and Henry B., twins. In 1904 Mr. Ziegler married (second) Malicca Ermogast Willard, widow of Daniel Willard, of Northumberland county, by whom she had three children: Annie, Edward and Milton. The Zieglers are members of the Reformed Church."
