[58903] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 29 October 2021: "A life-long resident of Bucksport, ME, Edwin McCoy, aka Ed, Eddie and Bud, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He began his life in what is known as the Bachelor House on Route 15. His childhood years were spent in the home his father built down the street from the Bachelor house. He graduated from Bucksport High School. While there he played football and other sports. Ed then attended the University of Maine for a semester before entering the workplace. He worked at the St. Regis paper mill for 43 years becoming Foreman of the Carpentry Department. Ed and his first wife, Gail Doucette McCoy raised 3 children in Bucksport. They both loved the outdoors, especially hiking and biking. The couple shared many happy times with their special friends, Peggy, and Roy Clements. After retirement Ed and Gail purchased a camper. They travel to 47 states. Ed and Gail bought a vacation home in Safety Harbor, Florida where they spent winters. Summers brought them back to their home in Bucksport. Ed and Gail celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Those were happy, active, and fun years. Sadly, Gail lost her battle with ALS in October 2007. Ed was a faithful husband and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ed continued to winter in Florida, where he later met his second wife, Elaine Rice, a long-time resident of Clearwater. They have spent many happy times sharing their love and lives. Elaine has been his constant and loving companion since they met. Caring for him, she remained by his side until he lost his fight with cancer. Ed is survived by his second wife, Elaine Rice of Clearwater, Florida; daughter, Linda Fuller, her husband, Owen Fuller, of Old Town, their daughter, Lisa Fuller and Lisa's daughter, Madison Worster of Old Town; son, Christopher McCoy, his wife, Tracie McCoy, and their son, Tyler McCoy, all of Bangor; Ed's sister, Cynthia Fairweather of Castine; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ed is preceded by his parents, Edwin and Dorothy McCoy; and daughter, Deborah McCoy, in 2018. She had two surviving children: son, Philip Alberts of Old Town, Philip's daughters, Cynthia and Savanna Alberts of Bucksport; Deborah's daughter, Emily Alberts of Bucksport."
