[46955] "The Gazette [Cedar Rapids, Iowa], 19 January 1940," p. 18: "Mrs. Jennie Baird Miller, 67, died Friday at 12:20 a.m. at her home, 280 Sixth avenue, after a lingering illness. Born July 6, 1872, at Academia, Pa., the daughter of Samuel G. and Mary S. Patterson Baird, she moved with her parents in 1882 to Kansas, where the family lived until 1884 when they moved to Clarence. She was married Feb. 28, 1905, to George C. Miller, who died in 1933. Mrs. Miller had lived in Marion 22 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Surviving are two children, Mrs. Fred Koering of Cedar Rapids and Art Miller of Clarence, and two brothers Elliott L. Baird of Center Point and George W. Baird of Neillsville. Wis. Mrs. Ethel Harding of Hanna City, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Clay of Center Point were reared in Mrs. Miller's home."
