Children: He had nine children with Sallie Minor, two are listed and the other seven died at birth per Earnest Haws. In 1913 while threshing and accident occured. The thresher and steam engine were seperate, and were connected by a long wide belt, which rotated around pulleys at both ends. While threshing, the belt "came off" and struck Charley in the back of the head. Charley lived for 5 more years, still suffering the effects of the accident.

He is survived by his wife, Emeline Torrey of Cherryfield; one daughter, Barbara Beal of Dexter; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Wallace and Alice Reed, both of Deland, Fla.; one stepson, Harold Northrop of Lubec; 12 stepgrandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Deblois Cemetery, Deblois . . ."
