"Bangor Daily News, 10 August 2022": "Hancock - Lewis H. 'Lew' Higgins, 97, died peacefully August 3, 2022, at home. He was born on January 5, 1925, in Ellsworth, son of Schuyler and Lena (Jones) Higgins. Lewis joined Lygonia Lodge in 1946 starting a lifelong career with the Masons. He was a past patron of OES Irene Chapter #97. He would continue on to join the Anah Temple Shiners in 1948 as a member of the Flag Unit and served as treasurer for up to 10 years. Lew was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ellsworth, since he was 14 years old and was later named the oldest living member. He served as a Deacon and on the board of trustees.
Lew worked for the USPS as a letter carrier in Ellsworth, for 36 years and retired in 1981. He began a construction company with friend, Ken Jordan and his son, Chris, where he worked as a general contractor for 25 years. Lew enjoyed bowling, cribbage, gardening, traveling, and playing darts with his good friend, Lyn Ainsworth.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Juanita Higgins; daughter, Sherylin Louise Boschee and husband, Rodney; son, Christopher Alan Higgins and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Bobbi-Lee Klein and husband, Graham, and Riley Chase Higgins; great-granddaughter, Ella Skylar Klein, who shared a birthday with Bampa. Special friend, and remaining member of 'the six pack,' Marion Bailey. He was predeceased by grandson, David E. Pinkham Jr.; a sister and five brothers, (Lew was the youngest), special friends and traveling companions, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, and Robert Emerson."
[181] Albert is son of Albert Francis Moore (b. 10 Nov 1913 at Medford, MA, d. Easter Sunday, 1974, bur. at Medford) and wife Rita Loraine Corbin (b. 28 April 1922). Albert (Sr.) is son of Daniel Francis Moore (b. in PA) and wife Anna Josephine Wharton (b. at Cassahaven [?], Co. Kerry, Ireland). Ancestry.com offers: "Moore Name Meaning - English: from Middle English more 'moor', 'marsh', 'fen', 'area of uncultivated land' (Old English mor), hence a topographic name for someone who lived in such a place or a habitational name from any of the various places named with this word, as for example Moore in Cheshire or More in Shropshire. English: from Old French more 'Moor' (Latin maurus). The Latin term denoted a native of northwestern Africa, but in medieval England the word came to be used informally as a nickname for any swarthy or dark-skinned person. English: from a personal name (Latin Maurus 'Moor'). This name was borne by various early Christian saints. The personal name was introduced to England by the Normans, but it was never as popular in England as it was on the Continent. Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Mórdha 'descendant of Mórdha', a byname meaning 'great', 'proud', or 'stately'. Scottish: see Muir. Welsh: from Welsh mawr 'big', applied as a nickname or distinguishing epithet."
