[51395] "Hartford Courant [Hartford, Connecticut], 2 June 1968, p. 44": "Harrison Conner Sr., 69, of 149 Greenwood St., New Britain, died early Saturday at New Britain General Hospital after a long illness. Born in Hudson, Pa., he lived in New Britain 51 years and was a World War I veteran of the 26th Army Division. He enlisted in the National Guard, New Britain Ct., January 5 1917 Company I 102D Infantry to discharge, Private. Served in Seicheprey; Chateau Thierry; Toul; Wonded in Action, 4 times, severely about September 1 1918. Was Gassed. Served as a member of the American Expeditionary Forces ( A. E. F., A.E.F. or AEF) was a formation of the United States Army on the Western Front of World War I, from September 15 1917 to March 3 1919. The AEF was established on July 5, 1917, in France under the command of Gen. John J. Pershing. Private Conner was Honorably Discharged, March 20 1919. A retired employee of the Stanley Works, New Britain, he was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, of New Britain. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Helen Wacker Conner; two sons, Robert J. Conner of New Britain and Harrison Conner Jr. of Kensington; two daughters, Mrs. Benjamin Rodick of New Britain and Mrs. Raymond Sawyer of Berlin; two brothers, William Conner of Hartford and Walter Conner of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Adam Albanese of New Britain and 13 grandchildren."
