[37191] This person is from the unverified Hutchins Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2014. Ancestry.com offers: "Hall Name Meaning - English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Scandinavian: from Middle English hall (Old English heall), Middle High German halle, Old Norse holl all meaning 'hall' (a spacious residence), hence a topographic name for someone who lived in or near a hall or an occupational name for a servant employed at a hall. In some cases it may be a habitational name from places named with this word, which in some parts of Germany and Austria in the Middle Ages also denoted a salt mine. The English name has been established in Ireland since the Middle Ages, and, according to MacLysaght, has become numerous in Ulster since the 17th century."

Ten days before his death he went a short distance from his house to cut down a tree, it lodged, and in his efforts to dislodge it he was struck by the supporting tree or sapling, and injured so severely as to eventuate in death. He leaves a widow, nine children, thirty-seven grandchildren and many other relations to lament their loss. He was a member of the Lutheran Church for about 48 years, and exemplified in his life and death the value of true religion. Those who knew him bear testimony to his worth as a citizen, his deportment as a companion and father, and his faithfulness as a Christian."
