[16265] Lydia m. in Venango Co., PA to Elias Smith.
[61144] Bernice is daughter of Clifford Emery Fickett (1891-1948) & Mabel Beatrice Cookson (1894-1955; m. 30 April 1913 in ME). "Thee Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 July 2009: "Brewer - Bernice Fickett Winslow, 91, passed away peacefully July 10, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born July 3, 1918, in Plymouth, the daughter of Beatrice and Clifford Fickett. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence 'Ike' Winslow; a sister, Susie, who died as an infant; and her beloved brother, Robert, who died at sea during World War II. Bernice moved to Brewer in the 1930s. She attended Farmington Normal School and earned a teaching degree in 1940. She began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Eddington. Later she taught elementary grades in Brewer and Bangor, retiring after 1978. Gov. Baldacci was one of her students. Bernice always loved animals, which resulted in her entering a second career, which lasted nearly 25 years at Brewer Veterinary Clinic, where she worked as a kennel worker and later as a bookkeeper. Dr. Feher, owner of the clinic, and Bernice developed a special friendship, which they continued after her retirement at the age of 90 last May. Bernice's best years were in Dedham, where she and her family lived in a country home. Horses were always a big part of her life, but she also was known for taking in and or adopting dogs, cats and birds that needed a good home. Bernice is survived by one daughter, Anita Bligh and her husband, Robert, who are full time RV-travelers; sons, David of Brewer and Robert of Holden and Robert's wife, Ruth (Burgess). Bernice always maintained a special connection to former daughters-in-law, Sylvia Winslow and Donna Landon; and grandchildren, Danny Cahill, Melissa and Scott Landon."

Capt. John Hamilton m. in Nov 1749 Harriet Craggs (d. 1 Feb 1769, daughter of James Craggs, Secretary of State). Find A Grave memorial 84870065 offers: He entered the Royal Navy and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 1736. He served on various ships with much distinction and was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1741.
In 1749, he married Harriot Eliot, widow of Richard Eliot of Port Eliot. Here is an account of his death as told by Edward Craggs-Eliot (Hamilton's Step-Son): "He lost his life as he was proceeding from his ship to land at Plymouth. The wind and sea were extremely high, and his officers remonstrated against the imprudence of venturing in a boat where the danger seemed imminent. But he was impatient to see his wife, and would not be persuaded. In a few minutes after he left the ship, the boat was upset and turned keel upward. The captain being a good swimmer, trusted to his skill, and would not accept of a place on the keel in order to make room for others, and then clung to the edge of the boat. Unluckily he had kept on his greatcoat. At length, seeming exhausted, those on the keel exhorted him to take a place beside them, and he attempted to throw off the coat, but finding his strength fail, told the men he must yield to his fate and soon afterwards sank while singing a psalm."
