[13752] The 1880 census lists Aaron (age 34) in Shamokin, PA with wife Sarah (25) and son William (1); Aaron is a plasterer according to the census. "Shamokin News-Dispatch, 17 September 1928," p. 1ff: "Death ended the life of Aaron H. Haupt, respected resident of Shamokin for more than fifty years, at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Pierce Taskcer of 122 South Sixth street Saturday evening. Mr. Haupt was in exceedingly good health until one week ago yesterday when he suffered a stroke when about to descend the stairs from the second floor of the Tasker residence to the first floor. Since that time he had been bedfast and although little hope was held for his recovery from the time of the stroke he lingered until Saturday evening at 7:45 o'clock when he passed peacefully away with loved ones at his bedside. Aaron Haupt, was born in Mahanoy Valley in 1845 where he lived until 52 years ago when he came to Shamokin. While in Mahanoy he worked at the shoemaker trade during his residence in Shamokin he became a plasterer. Shortly before coming to Shamokin he married Sarah Seller of Mahantonga, who preceeded him in death six years ago. Since that time he has been making his home with his daughter. Mr. Haupt was a devout member of Trinity Lutheran church and attended services up until the week before he suffered a stroke. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Pierce Tasker and two sons, Edward who is employed at the Eagle mill and William, the well known Spruce street furniture dealer. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from th2 Tasker home with Rev. W. K. Fischer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be made in the Shamokin cemetery."
