[29244] See the unverified information at http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/c/o/r/Karin-B-Corbeil/GENE3-0013.html in 2009 which reports: "Daniel Eddy/Edy was the last New Englander of the Eddy Line. He was born Abt 1740 at Salisbury, Conn., the eldest of the four sons and three daughters of Captain Zachariah Eddy. The brothers of Daniel were, Newbury, Asa and Abner. Daniel lived in Salisbury, Conn. until he was about seven., then spent the next seventeen years in Gloucester, RI. He married Sarah Jones at Belchertown, MA in 1769. Between 1770 and 1776, Daniel and family left Mass for the new lands opening up in the Hampshire Grants in Vermont. According to family history, Newbury Eddy settled in Wethersfield, VT. on the west bank of the Connecticut River 43 miles North of the Mass border. It is possible that Daniel settled near by. Daniel Eddy's children were, Daniel, Joyce, Benjamin, Newbury and Omri. This family were British Loyalists. It was disturbing to them that the peace treaty between set the 45th parallel as the boundary between Quebec and Vermont. To be certain of living under the British flag, the family moved north. However when the official survey was done it showed them still within the USA border. This necessitated another move. This found them settling and farming in Clarenceville, Quebec. The Edy's of Canada are mainly the descendents of two of Daniel Eddy's children, Newbury and Omri."

[18674] Francis' descendants are from www.FindAGrave.com in 2012. http://www.courts.state.me.us/opinions_orders/opinions/documents/98me202A.htm includes in the argument in a court case: " At the heart of this litigation lies real property located at the outlet of Foster Pond and along the outflowing Gristmill Brook to the northeast. In 1774, Asael Foster acquired the land encompassing this property from the proprietors of the Bridgton Township. Soon thereafter, Foster built a gristmill and a dam (not the dam in dispute here) on what is now known as lot 9, which lies downstream from the Foster Pond outlet along Gristmill Brook. In 1839, Asael's son Francis conveyed to Benjamin Knapp the right to use the land at the outlet of Foster Pond to construct a dam and use its water power to undertake sawmill operations. Knapp and Joseph Foster, Francis's son, built the dam and sawmill the same year."
