"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 2 October 1991, p. 4: "Ellsworth - Marguerite Carter, 81, died Sept. 30, 1991 at an Ellsworth health-care facility. She was born March 14, 1910, the daughter of Irving and Iva (Dorr) Macatton. She is survived by three sons, Albert and Gene Carter, both of Ellsworth, and John Carter of Penobscot; one half brother, Harry Freeman, Jr. of Union; four half sisters, Ethel McNutt, Bernice Faulkner and Helen Smith, all of Harrington, Jessie Macatton of Sorrento; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; two sons. Alvin Wayne Carter and Ronald Carter; and a half brother, Dean Macatton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 3 1991 at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with the Rev. Sue Davenport officiating. Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth."
