[61420] Gwendolyn's obituary: "Gwendolyn "Gwen' (Crosby) Serafin, 82, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Walter F. Serafin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at her home. Born in East Millinocket, Maine, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Lee) Crosby, she grew up there and after high school moved to Connecticut residing in New Britain and Hartford before moving to South Windsor over 55 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Gwen was a customer service representative with the former Hartford National Bank in Manchester for many years. She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. She was active in the PTO at Eli Terry School, a Brownie Troop Leader and involved with the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her children, Walter Serafin and his wife Debbie of Enfield, Ann Serafin of Windsor Locks, and Terri Vachon and her husband David of Southington; seven grandchildren, Nicole Berthiaume and her husband Josh, Jenn Serafin, and Kristen Serafin, Danny Godin and his wife Ashley, Bobby Godin, Paul Godin, and Scott Godin. She is also survived by two brothers, Sheldon Crosby and his wife Theresa, and Lyndon Crosby and his wife Liz, all of East Millinocket, ME; two sisters, Ferne Stanley of Medway, ME, and Colleen Williams and her husband George of Lisbon, CT and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Gordon, Don and Joe Crosby, a sister, Maggie Dow, and her dog, Gizmo. Her family will receive family and friends for calling hours on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 25th, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor."
