[27989] http://jimlong.net/genealogy/dking.html offers: "There is a dispute over who exactly are the parents of Mary Deane. She could be the daughter of John Deane and Sarah Edson. (Sarah Edson was the daughter of The Deacon Samuel Edson). Most likely she is the daughter of Benjamin Deane and Sarah Williams. (Sarah Williams is of Royal descent). Mayflower Families has Mary's mother as Sarah Williams and is sourced this way: 1. Lowell. Edsons, Early in Bridgewater. Thos. P. James, 1864. p. 22 "She was born 1687, and died 1770." 2. Ibid. p. 15: "married Mary Dean, daughter of Benjamin Dean, of Taunton, 1707." Mary Deane and Samuel Edson's first child was born in December of 1708, not conclusive, but logical based on a 1707 marriage. Also, it was Mary's husband, Samuel Edson III who gave the land known as "The Glebe" to the church of England which was an incredibly bold move in those times. This too would suggest that Mary Deane was a descendant of the Royals."

[43867] "The Boston Globe [Boston, Massachusetts], 28 January 1994," p. 31: "Charles W. Grinnell of Magnolia, former public information officer of the New England Regional Commission, died of cancer Wednesday in the Greenery Nursing Home in Beverly. He was 74. - Mr. Grinnell was born in Boston. He graduated from Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge and attended the US Army Meteorology program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After service in the Army during World War II, he was city editor of the Montpelier, Vt, "Evening Argus" and owner of Vermont radio station WSKI. He later became public information officer for the New England State Police Commissioners Conference and a special agent for the New England Crime Commission before becoming public relations director of the New England Regional Commission. In recent years, he had been East Coast vice president of Cable Investments Incorporated of Denver, Colo., for whom he negotiated the acquisition of cable TV and radio stations. Mr. Grinnell, who played polo at the Myopia Hunt Club, founded the Basin Harbor Club polo team in Vermont and was a part-time polo coach at Norwich University. He was also vice president and cofounder of Rescue, Inc., a personal crisis hot line operated from Boston City Hospital for 15 years. He leaves his wife, Jean (Girdler); two daughters, Pamela G. Breen of Enfield, Conn., and Anne G. Dagenhart of Temple, Texas; a son, Chandler R. of West Newbury; a sister, Leslie Grinnell of Greenwich, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Carol Adams of Fleetwood, Pa., and Suzanne Carney of Alameda, Calif; two stepsons, David Williamson of Vermont and Scott Williamson of Falmouth; and six grandchildren. There are no funeral arrangements. Mr. Grinnell donated his body to Harvard Medical School."
[61853] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 28 February 1895, p. 6: "Rodney F Haney died in this place on Thursday morning, Feb. 21, aged 47 years, and four months in the house where he was born and always lived. During the last eleven years he has been a great sufferer from asthma, though the immediate cause of his death is supposed to be heart failure, as he had been about as well as usual until the day before his death. For many years he had been a prominent member of the ME Church and was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge No. 11, F & A M of Orland. Eminently domestic in the habits and unyielding in his integrity, he enjoyed the confidence of the entire community in which he has always lived. A widow, who is now quite ill, survives him, also two sons, George W of Bluehill and Archie , who has always lived with his parents."
