Find A Grave memorial 13754805 offers: "In the Rev War he was a private and sargent. He fought at Bunker Hill, enlisting at age 18 and served under Generals Stark and Gates. Farnham, Ralph, Lebanon. Private, Capt. Philip Hubbard's co., Col. James Scammon's (30th) regt.; muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775; enlisted May 15, 1775; service, 2 mos. 22 days; also, company return [probably Oct., 1775], including abstract of pay due to last of July, 1775; also, list of men drafted from Col. John Frost's (2d York Co.) regt., dated May 7, 1777, and endorsed for Rhode Island. Farnom, Ralph, Lebanon. Sergeant, Capt. Samuel Grant's co., Col. Jonathan Titcomb's regt.; service, 2 mos. 15 days, including travel to and from camp at Rhode Island; enlistment 2 months; warrant for pay allowed in Council July 21, 1777. In 1780 he got 100 acres in Acton Maine.
He was invited to Boston in 1860 as the last survivor of the Battle of Bunker Hill, and was a celebrity. Ralph and Mehitable are buried in the Farnham Cemetery on the east side of Lebanon Road, about a 1/4 mile from the road and south of the res of Mrs Bessie Lewis in Acton Maine."
[57143] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 15 November 2013: "Hermon and Bangor - Dana P. Hamilton, 83, husband of Mary L. (Hanscom) Hamilton, died Nov. 14, 2013, at a local health care center. He was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Brewer, son of Clarence and Ruby (Murphy) Hamilton. Dana was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1948 and was a dedicated organizer of their class reunions until 2008. He joined the Navy in 1950 during the Korean War and sailed aboard a destroyer for four years. Before his military service and upon his return in 1954, he was employed by Grants Dairy for 17 years. Dana then went to work for Colgate Palmolive Co., as a Sales Representative for 28 years, retiring in 1988. After he retired, he was employed for two years at Brookings-Smith and H.O. Bouchard. He enjoyed landscaping, mowing lawns and trimming hedges. Dana especially kept his own property as well as his neighbor, Harold Bouchard's property truly manicured. He and his wife, Mary, loved to travel and they spent 14 years wintering in Florida. Dana was a former member of the Bangor Jaycees and served as vice president. He was also a member of the Bangor Area Snowmobile Club, Triangle Club and Roadrunners Good Sam Camping Group. Dana was a member for the First Baptist Church of Bangor, serving as President, Board of Trustees, Memorial Board, Head Usher and volunteered at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army. He was also King Lion of the Bangor Lions Club and member of the American Legion. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Mary of Bangor, are two daughters, Sandra Lee Peplau and her husband, A. James Peplau, of South Reading, Vt., and Lynn Marie Dube and her husband, David Dube, of Old Orchard Beach; two grandchildren, Adam Silsby of Warrenton, Va., and Kellie Silsby of Medford, Mass.; two brothers, C. Donald Hamilton of Portland, and James E. Hamilton and his wife, Nancy, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant, son, Neil Dana."
