[41189] "The Huntsville Times [Huntsville, Alabama], 28 January 1920," p. 3: "The many friends of the late Geo. I. Motz, throughout the county, will be grieved to learn of his death after a few days illness. He passed away this morning at 4:15 o'clock at his home on Pulaski Pike. He was 67 years old and leaves a sister, Miss Ella Motz as his only near relative. For many yearn Mr. Motz has been one of the popular surveyors of the county and will be remembered for the enthusiastic and active interest he displayed for many years in collecting farm exhibits for the county and state fairs, ably assisted by his sister."
