John apparently married again, as wife Myra Virginia (1885-1976) is buried with him. John served 20 years as Fayette County Commissioner and previously was road supervisor in South Union Twp. He served in World War I and for two years was state commander of the Foreign Wars Veterans, a member of the VFW and American Legion posts in Uniontown.

She died after 1880."
