[49370] Find A Grave memorial 183849162 offers his obituary: "Baing - Brian I. Brodie, 81, passed away from C.O.P.D. complications on September 27, 2017 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 1, 1936 in Lubec the son of the late Carleton I and Rita I. Brodie. He grew up in Lubec and graduated from Lubec High School in 1955. That fall after school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving his country for the next twenty years. He served on C.G. Cutters light ships from the east coast to the west coast. He completed a one year tour of duty in Greenland, and was stationed at West Quoddy Head Lubec, Moose Peak, and the West Jonesport Station until his retirement in October of 1975. He took a few months off from work before he went to work at the Jonesport Peat Bog, and then went to work for Cherryfield Foods for the next seventeen years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his vegetable garden. He served on the Whiting Food Pantry Board when it first came to Whiting, not only working, but buying food that was really needed. He was a 50 year member of Jonesport Masonic Lodge #188 A.F. & A.M., and a 50 year member of Rumery Chapter O.E.S. of Jonesport. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Christine (Miller); three children Irvin of Lubec and his children Jennifer and Brian; Darlene of Franklin, and Kevin and his wife Kaila of Whiting, and their children - Colton Rogers, Merrill, twins Hazel and Franklin, and Everett; two sisters Patricia Archer of Ellsworth, and Brenda Bryant and her husband Larry of Brewer; a brother Carleton I. Brodie Jr. and his wife Hubene of Lamoine; an aunt Ferne Kelly of FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by both grandparents Thomas and Fanny Brodie and Earle and Ella Ingalls; a sister Sheila Knight; two brothers-in-law Harold Knight and Henry Archer; three uncles Obbie Brodie, and Wayne and Joe Ingalls; and a very special daughter-in-law Carol Brodie."
