She attended the Hope United Methodist Church in Edwardsburg, MI. Marjorie was a member of the Good Sam Club, and worked for the Salvation Army in Elkhart. She enjoyed working crossword and word search puzzles, and spending time in the activities room at East Lake. She was born August 28, 1918, on her grandparent's farm in the Springfield Township, York County, daughter of the late Jacob E. and Mary H. Myers. Beatrice was a 1936 graduate of Eichelberger High School and a 1940 graduate of Elizabethtown College. She taught High School English, French and Latin for 35 years, mostly at Eichelberger/ Hanover High School. She was the Class of 1960 faculty advisor and enjoyed many reunions with them through the years. After her retirement from teaching she volunteered at Cross Key Village the Brethren Home Community for over 20 years. Beatrice loved to travel to Europe, throughout the United States to attend Church of the Brethren annual conferences and to Southern California in the winter to visit her sister. She was a lifelong member of Hanover Church of the Brethren where she was a former Moderator, Chair of the church board and Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her sister, Helen M. Herbst, La Verne, CA; niece, Ann Herbst of Windsor, CA; nephew, David Herbst and wife, Alice of Palo Alto, CA; niece, Marie Nave and husband, Gordon of Kansas City, MO; nephew, Richard Herbst and wife, Jane of Austin, TX; as well as five grandnieces and nephews."
