Eckberg, 83, died at the Perry Memorial Hospital, Sunday at 1:45 p.m. Ida M. Eckberg was born Oct. 31, 1882, in Skivarp, Skona (note: Skane), Sweden. She was educated in Sweden and came to the United States in 1903 and settled in Greenview, Ill. She was married to Olaf Eckberg in 1905 in Greenview. They farmed in Bureau Township, retiring in 1943. She attended the Wesleyan Church in Wyanet and was a member of the World War II Mothers. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alma Bodelson, Princeton, Mrs. Ann Richmond, Wyanet; nine sons, Arthur, Edmund, Lawrence, Harold, all of Walnut; Orville, San Antonio, Texas; Lee Roy, Lester and Kenneth, all of Wyanet, and Everett of Princeton.; 32 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at the Stutley Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Rev. Vernon Swanson and Rev. Franklin Graber will officiate. Interment will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Princeton."

[10567] Eben is son of Ebenezer Hodsdon (1792-1838) & Ruth Goodwin Blake (1791-1849). Eben's obituary: "Ebenezer A. Hodsdon who died on his homestead on Lake Amelia Wednesday night was on of the Pioneer residents of Minneapolis. He was born in Castine, ME., in 1820, followed a Sea-faring life from the time he was 14 till he was 26, served in the United States navy for three years and then lived on a farm on Lake street and Bloomington avenue until 1867 when he bought the homestead near Lake Amelia where he died. Mr. Hodsdon was one of the early Free Masons of the state, being one of the charter members of the grand lodge of Minnesota."
