[1072] Name from Snow's "Brooksville, ME...", p. 12 - previously AEM had wife as Sally _______. Philip Howard Gray, "Penobscot Pioneers" (1993), p. 11-12, disputes the assumption that her surname is Black, and believes that there is strong circumstantial evidence that her surname is Watson. Ancestral File 1W8S-6N6 reports she is dau. of Josiah Black and Abigail Watson - this file is not verified.

[18548] "The Greene Family of England and America..." (Boston: privately printed, 1902), pp. 9-10 states Sir Henry was Lord of Boughton Manor, three and one-half miles north of Northampton. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~agrandchildsheritage/greene.html provides his ancestry and reports Henry was Lord Chief Justice of England in 1353 under King Edward III, was Speaker of the House of Lords in two Parliaments (1363 & 1364), and became last of the King's nearest Counsel, or "State Cabinet". [Some scholars give his dates as Chief Justice as 24 May 1361 through 28 October 1365.]
