She was a member of Holy Redeemer Cotholic Church of Bar Harbor; a church volunteer; a hospital auxiliary volunteer; a member of the Bar Harbor Golf Club; and a teacher's aide from 1968 to 1990. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Gray Sr. of Bar Harbor. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cheryl Gray, Reginald 'Skip', Jr. and Betty Gray; four grandchildren, Michelle, Adam, Kiley and Luke Gray. . . . Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery." Rita is daughter of John Francis Carter (1895-1944) & Elsie Frances Sido (1893-1955).

[21453] Ge. Dict. of ME & NH, III:397: George, of Greenland, NH, taxed there in 1690-91. At age 40 he was a tenant on the Hall-Packer farm in Greenland (at about 40 years of age, in 1697). Wife Bridget survived him and was taxed in 1718-1719. Apparently he had a son, John, whose wife is subject of a discussion in NEHGR, April 2000, pp. 142-146. George is said to have m. Bridget Alexander (ca. 1645-1729) and had at least four children.

She was the wife of Douglas O. Wardwell . Born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Leroy and Jenny Wardwell , she had been a resident of Connecticut before moving to Narragansett several years ago. She was a graduate of Boston University's School of Practical Arts and Letters, and received a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University. Mrs. Wardwell had also been a paralegal for Day, Berry & Howard in Hartford, and a secretary to the chief scientist at the United Technologies Research Center of Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks. She was later a human resources supervisor at Otis Elevator Company. As a young woman, she had been a cellist with the Portland Symphony. Mrs. Wardwell was a literacy volunteer with the Washington County Adult Learning Center. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Laurie J. Dragunoff of Hamden, Conn., and Julie A. Saillant of Barkhamstead, Conn.; and a sister, Winnifred Bowen of Georgetown, Texas. A memorial service was held Saturday at the Kingston Congregational Church, Kingstown Road, Kingston."
