"Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 8 April 2009: "Penobscot - Robert Grindle, husband of Jeanette Grindle, died Monday, April 6, 2009, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 27, 1932, in Penobscot, the son of Frank and Aurilla (Robertson) Grindle. Robert enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and quietly helping out the community. He worked at the Bucksport paper mill for 34 years. He served loyally in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife; sons, Eugene of Penobscot, Andrew and wife, Brenda, of Orland, Timothy and wife, Connie, of Bucksport, and Theodore and wife, Wanda, of Hereford, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Nicole, Erica, Elise, Tayor, Kali and Cody; great-grandchild, Jeremiah; brothers, James Grindle and wife, Jodie, and Franklin Grindle and wife, Norma; sisters, Alberta and husband, Phil Whitney and Jane Tannehill; several nieces and nephews."

She was born May 16, 1922 in Waynetown, Ind., to Charles B. and Adah (Laird) Rusk. She came to the area in 1944 from Montgomery Co. Ind. Josephine was a retired teacher at Lakeland School Corp. She taught from 1944 until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, Sylvan Chapter 251 O.E.S., former board member of the LaGrange County 4-H and a member of the Lima Presbyterian Church in Howe, Ind. On August 5, 1945 she married Robert L. Myers in Waynetown, Ind. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2001. Surviving Josephine is a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Leo Johnston, Howe, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Jackie Myers of Howe, Ind.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her parents, a husband and a brother, Charles E. Rusk preceded Josephine in death."
