[13849] "Shamokin News-Dispatch, 22 August 1936," p. 2: "Mrs. Edith Falck, 38, wife of Charles Falck, of 127 North Marshall street, died of a complication of diseases at 2:00 this morning in the Jefferson hospital, Philadelphia. In failing health for two years, Mrs. Falck was first admitted to the Jefferson 13 months ago. Later she returned home, but a short time after was forced to return to the hospital. Mrs. Falck was born at Leck Kill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Geist. When a child the family moved to Shamokin and later to Sunbury. They resided there a few years before returning to this city. Mrs. Falck was a member of the Reformed church at Leck Kill. Surviving are her husband, three children, Earl, Faye and Mark, at home, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. George Mattern, of Rebuck; Earl, of Red Cross; Mrs. Jesse Troutman, of Dornsife, and Mrs. Henry Reitz, Russell and Lester, of Leck Kill."

She was born Nov. 29, 1905, the daughter of Judson and Mabel (Lufkin) Haskell. Charlotte and her late husband, Arthur C. Barter, were married for 69 years. They owned and operated together the M. D. Joyce Hardware Store. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Donna B. Billings of Deer Isle; three grandchildren, Arthur J. Billings and his wife, Diane, Dana E. Billings and his wife, Bobbi, and Cyndi A. Billings; a special granddaughter, Patsy Murray; four great-grandchildren, Sara, Lori, Blake and Anne; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, John J. Billings; four brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Thomas and James Haskell; four sisters, Georgia Gray, Rose Barbour, Aida Haskell and Marguerite Montenegro. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 1996, at Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle, with Elder Winfield Billings officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Adams Cemetery, Deer Isle."
