He was born in Hampden Sept. 7, 1915, the son of Chester and Elsie (Cronkite) Bragdon. Norman graduated from Brewer High School in 1933 and was a lifelong resident of Brewer. He worked for Eastern Fine Paper for 35 year.s He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was past commander of the Isaac Clewley VFW Post No. 4917 of Brewer. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 60 years of Brewer, are two daughters, Joan Colmer and her husband, William of North Fort Myers, Fla., Joyce The-barge and her husband, George of Windham; three sons, William Bragdon and his wife, Juanita of Brewer, Bernard Bragdon of Brewer, Robert Bragdon and his wife, Linda of Eddington; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mildred Miller, Thelma McMillan, and Catherine York."

Find A Grave memorial 45298298 reports: "Dr. Bryner was a child of three years when his mother died. At the time of his second marriage, Mr. John Bryner removed to Blain, and the son was but eight years old when his father, too, was taken from him by death. His grandfather, Mr. Rice, of Madison township, then took charge of him, and with this kind relative, the boy remained until he was old enough to make his own way in the world. The foundation of his education was laid in the common schools of Madison township, after which his grandfather sent him for three years to the academy at Bloomfield, Perry county. In 1879, having for some time read medicine under the direction of Dr. M. B. Strickler, of Bloomfield, he entered the medical department of the University of Pennsylvania, attending lectures there during that winter, 1879-80, and during the ensuing winter, 1881-82, at the medical college of Columbus, OH, where he was graduated in 1882. Dr. Bryner began practice at New Germantown, Perry county, and in 1886, removed to Ickesbnrg, where he has a very fine practice, not only in the borough but throughout. a large extent of the surrounding country. He is an ex-president of the Perry County Medical Society; a permanent member of the Pennsylvania State Medical Association, and a member-elect of the American Medical Association. Dr. Bryner is a Republican, of decided convictions, but so far from seeking the political loaves and fishes, he has refused to run for office, when solicited. He is a member of the Jr. O. U. A. M. Dr. J. H. Bryner was married in 1888, to Lila J. Wilson, of Ickesburg. They have five children, four daughters and a son. Mrs. Bryner is a member of the Lutheran church. Dr. J. H. Bryner, of Ickesburg, has brought suit for slander against William Hall, of the same place. Mr. Hall is charged with having referred to Dr, Bryner in a public address and held him up as a horrible example. - The Perry County Democrat, Bloomfield, PA, September 27, 1905."

[52737] Find A Grave memorial 177555096 offers: "Nathaniel Jr. was the 4th of seven children born to Nathaniel Cox Sr and Hannah (Mitchell) Cox. Although no grave marker exists in South Edmunds Cemetery, it is believed that Nathaniel Jr and his wife Johanna were buried somewhere on the Cox property in Edmunds. The Eastport Sentinel newspaper editions covering the time of Johannah's death and Nathaniel's death are missing. However, probate records exist for Nathaniel Jr's will & estate. An 1861 map of Edmunds shows the location of the home of Nathaniel's son, John Cox, as well as many other family members. The late local historian Rebecca Hobart recorded this short biography of Nathaniel Jr in the April 2000 issue of the Dennys River Historical Society Newsletter: 'Nathaniel Cox, Jr., who was born Nov. 1, 1772, married on August 19, 1797 Johannah Tenney of Columbia. In 1799, Nathaniel Jr. and Johannah settled in Edmunds where he purchased for $200 a lot of land formerly owned by James ONeal, a British patriot who is believed to have been the first settler in the township in 1776. ONeal had moved to Macadavic, N.B., in 1793/94. The narrow but long lot which extended from the present Route 1 to the shore, was most recently owned and occupied by Chester and Sophronia (Cox) Rogers and family. Since both Nathaniels, Sr, and Jr, were living in Edmunds in 1799, it is believed by their descendants they lived on the same property and that Hannah, wife of Nathaniel Sr, was buried there. However, Edmunds records state that she was buried at Little Falls. Johannah, wife of Nathaniel Jr, died in Edmunds November 18, 1841 at the age of 63 years. He died Dec. 4, 1842, aged 70 years.'"

Gowin left England before May 1637, but first appears in the records of Plymouth Colony at his marriage in 1638. He could bear arms in 1643, and was propounded freeman 5 Jun 1644, the same day he took the oath as constable of Scituate. He was one of the Conihasset partners in 1648.
Gowin White, (Planter) was one of the Conihasset partners in 1646. In 1650 he purchased a considerable farm of William Richards, who removed to Weymouth: it was on the south of Tills or Dwelleys creek, and now [1831] the Ruggles farm. There is no record of the family of Gowin White, be we find Joseph and Timothy to be his sons and heirs: also Sarah, who may have been his daughter, married John Bailey 1672. Gowan White arrived in Scituate on October 15, 1638. He was one of the Conihasset partners of 1646. In 1650 he bought the farm of William Richards for L75. His wife, Elizabeth Ward came to New England in the ship "Increase" of London in 1635.
Gawan White was baptized 23 May 1607, West Quantoxhead, Co., Somerset. (He was possibly named for Gawen Evans, the parson's son, who was baptized at West Quantoxhead 28 Oct 1581, entered Oxford University in 1604 aged 22, and became rector of his native parish in 1617.)
He married Elizabeth Ward on 15 Sep 1638, in Plymouth Colony.
He had left England before May 1637. Elizabeth had been servant of Mr. Timothy Hatherly, as very probably White had also. They were married by "Maister Ginnings." His name is on the list of Scituate men able to bear arms in 1643, he was propounded as freeman on 5 June 1644, and on the same day took the oath as
constable of Scituate. He died before 3 March 1664/5 when Timothy and Joseph White presented an inventory, taken by James Cudworth and Isaac Buck, of his estate, which they were appointed to administer. The estate was small, only 59 pounds, and there was no land listed.
Gawen White, in 1648 a planter, was one of the group of Scituate men known as the Conihasset partners to whom Mr. Hatherly deeded his great Conihasset property of many square miles. Mr. Hatherly had been one of a number of London merchants to whom Conihasset had originally been granted, and he had bought out the interest of the others. The farm which Gawen White acquired in the division between the partners he presumably gave to his son, Timothy. The family homestead,
however, was the house and land, 45 acres of upland and 30 acres of marsh, which White had bought of William Richards and which he mortgaged to Joseph Tilden on 8 June 1654, to secure the payment of 54 bushels, 3 pecks of wheat and 32 bushels of barley by 21 Oct 1654. The mortgage was discharged in full court. It was probably for part of the purchase money of this land that Mr. Richards sued White in 1644 and obtained a verdict of L4:10:0. White and his wife Elizabeth sold this farm
to William Randall on 22 Dec 1658, Elizabeth releasing her dower on 12 Dec 1660. On 1 June 1664, White sold to John Otis and Thomas Woodward what seems to have been the last of his land, 60 acres which he had bought from William Gilson. White's name appears frequently in the court records. A difference between him and Richard Lambert was referred to arbitration in 1641, and he was fined for an assault on William Holmes in that year. On 4 June 1645, he was granted the custody
of a "man child 5 years of age" until he should reach the age of 24 unless the father should return and pay for his keep. The boy was a son of one Thomas Riddings who had come to Scituate a year previously and had left the child at White's house when he departed, with fair promises. In the same court White sued William Hatch Sr. for assault ( - apparently the Elder had forgotten himself - ) and won a verdict of L20. In 1650/1 White was presented for travelling from Weymouth to Scituate on the Lord's day, but was "cleared". Elizabeth Randall was fined for telling a lie to White's detriment in 1653/4 while in 1657/8 he paid for telling a lie about Mr. Joseph Tilden. He was a member of a jury of inquest on the death of Richard Man, who was drowned in 1655. Ensign John Williams sued him for debt in 1661 and Mr. Joseph Tilden in 1663/4. Williams won a verdict of L11 and Tilden one of L6.
