[42918] "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, PA], 7 January 1903," p. 3: "Henry Bixler, an old and highly esteemed citizen of Saville township, died at his home near Eshcol on Tuesday of last week, aged 75 years. His remains were interred at Buffalo cemetery on Friday. Henry Bixler was a son of Joseph and Mary (Long) Bixler, and was born near Eshcol November 18, 1827. He was reared on a farm and by careful management and persevering effort he was able to purchase the farm where he lived and built thereon a modern house, living in ease and comfort the latter days of his life. He was married December 2, 1851, to Sarah A. Hencb, of Tuscarora township. Their children are: Mrs. J. Lewis Campbell, of Tuscarora township; Joseph A. Bixler, on the homestead; John N, of Maiden, Ill; Mrs. Martin L. Stuber, of Saville; Rev. Cassius C, missionary of the Presbyterian church in Brazil, South America; and Miss Anna Tula, at home. Mrs. Bixler died in July, 1872. The deceased was a Republican in politics. He was a good, substantial citizen and by his death tbe county looses another of its old and influential residents."
