[3837] Brunchildis ("Brunhild") is also known as Brunhilde. "After the death of her husband, Brunhild, regent for her five-year-old son, Childebert, began her twenty-eight year career as deputy ruler of Austrasia and later Burgundy...." - "The Birth of France...," Katharine Scherman (NY: Random House, 1987), p. 178. She incited her husband to war against Chilperic, king of Neustria, who had murdered his wife (Galeswintha, Brunhild's sister) in order to marry his mistress (Fredegund, who later had Sigibert killed!). Cf. http://www.royalancestorscollins.com/castile.htm which gives her parents as Athangildo of Spain and Flavia Juliana. Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunhilda_of_Austrasia.

Jacob m. 21 July 1884 Elizabeth Marshall and was one of the largest farm operators in Labette Co., KS. He and Elizabeth had Calvin Wert (who died as a result of his arm being shattered in a shotgun accident 26 Nov 1926) and Kenneth Wert.
His obituary in the Oskaloosa Independent, 26 Nov 1936: DEATH OF J. E. WERT - Parsons Sun, 23d, carries the following notice of death of a former Jefferson countian, one time a teacher in the rural schools of this vicinity: J. E. Wert, 82, one of Labette countys largest farm operators, died at his home, 1423 Washington, at 8 oclock Saturday night. Mr. Wert fractured his hip as the result of a fall on the sidewalk in front of his home about three weeks ago. He was taken immediately to Mercy hospital for treatment where he remained until Thursday afternoon. His condition gradually grew worse and owing to his advanced years, the accident terminated fatally. The funeral will be held at the Martin funeral chapel at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, conducted by C. E. Pile. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Wert is survived by his widow and one son, Kenneth, both of the home address. A son, Calvin Wert, died 10 years ago as the result of an accidental discharge of a shotgun while hunting northeast of the city. Calvin will be remembered as prominent in aviation and had unerway at the time of his death to make Parsons an aviation center for this part of the state. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Samuel D. Wert, 1503 Felix, being one of his nephews. Mr. Wert was born at Carlisle Springs, Pa., where he grew to young manhood, later moving to Winchester, Kas., where he was united in marriage July 21, 1884, to Elizabeth Marshall. He spent several years at La Harpe and came to Parsons with his family in 1919. He was a successful farmer, owning farms along the Neosho river north of 160 highway. He was always interested in the welfare of the community and was held in high esteem by all who knew him."
Oskaloosa Independent, 3 December 1936: "Ed Wert, as he was known here, came from Pennsylvania in 1878 and for some time lived with his uncle, Daniel Briner, one of Oskaloosas pioneer settlers. His death occurred in Parsons, a few days ago, as noted in this paper last week. He owned 1400 acres."
