Alcorn, of Ringgold, died Wednesday, May 29, 1916, at his home at the age of seventy-four years, three months and twenty-seven days. Born near Coolspring February 2, 1872, he was a son of Andrew and Mary (Reed) Alcorn. He was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Geist, March 19, 1903. He was a member of the Ringgold Methodist church. Surviving are his wife and the following children: Vernon, of Sigel; Roy, of Worthville; Harry, of Ringgold; Frank, of Fairmount City, and Mrs. Mary Neese, at home. One sister, Mrs. Bess Hannah, of Sprankle Mills, and eighteen grandchildren also survive." The LDS IGI file (not verified) reports that Jeremiah is son of Andrew Alcorn (1835-1923) and Mary Jane Reed (1834-1921, m. 1856).

"The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, PA], 18 January 1928," p. 3: "Mrs. Ellen Wax, widow of Wilson Wax, died at her home at Mannsville of internal cancer on Friday. She had been ill for more than a year and suffered terribly. Death came following a hemorrhage. Mrs. Wax was a daughter of Washington and Mary (Burkepile) Burd, of Mannsville, and was 53 years of age. Her husband died a year ago last September. Surviving are two sons and one daughter Saylor and Tolbert Wax, of Mannsville, and Pearl (Mrs. Grover Freeman), of near Loysville. She was a member of the U. B. Church and was a fine woman, a good mother and kind neighbor. The funeral was on Monday, the services being conducted by Rev. H. D. McKeehan, of Huntingdon. Burial in the Mannsville cemetery."

Eadwig offended the aristocracy at his coronation when Glastonbury abbot Dunstan found him cavorting with a noble woman and her daughter Aelgifu, whom he later married. These women caused King Eadwig to banish Dunstan. In 957 Mercia and Northumbria selected his younger brother Edgar as their king. When Eadwig died two years later, Edgar also became king of Wessex." Hope Cemetery, Scituate, MA. Ancestry.com offers: "Litchfield Name Meaning - habitational name from Lichfield in Staffordshire. The first element preserves a British name recorded as Letocetum during the Romano-British period. This means 'gray wood', from words which are the ancestors of Welsh llwyd 'gray' and coed 'wood'. By the Old English period this had been reduced to Licced, and the element feld 'pasture', 'open country' was added to describe a patch of cleared land within the ancient wood. habitational name from Litchfield in Hampshire, recorded in Domesday Book as Liveselle. Mueller, M.D., of Pittsburg, Pa., a prominent physician and specialist on diseases of the ear, nose and throat, was born in Crestline, Ohio, Nov. 10, 1863, son of August C. E. Mueller, a native of Pomerania, Germany, who came to America in 1855 and located in Ohio, and of his wife, Elizabeth (Von Dorschlag) Mueller, also a native of the Fatherland . . . Dr. Mueller was married, in 1891, to Grace Swan, daughter of Wm. B. and Grace (Swan) Miller, her mother having been the daughter of Robert Swan, one of the oldest citizens of Allegheny city, and an uncle of Mrs. Muellers was postmaster of Allegheny city for several years. They had one child, Robert Swan Mueller, born in 1893, and now a pupil of the public schools of Pittsburg. Dr. Mueller was again married, in 1900, and on this occasion to Nell W., daughter of H. C. and Louise (Worthington) Anderson, of Steubenville, Ohio. . . "
