"The Akron Beacon Journal [Akron, Ohio], 18 November 1955," p. 2: "George Sheldon (Pete) Ellis, a Goodyear Tire & RubberCo. executive in New Bedford, Mass., died Thursday in a New Bedford hospital after a short illness. A native of Akron, Mr. Ellis joined Goodyear 25 years ago and was made manager of general merchandise control for the New Bedford plant in 1945. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church In New Bedford. He also was active in Red Cross programs. Mr. Ellis leaves his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Annette, and two brothers. David of Detroit and Elmer of Akron. . . . Burial will be In Greenlawn Cemetery."
