[51409] "The Ellsworth American [ Ellsworth, Maine], 14 July 2015": "Ellsworth - Robert (Bob) Lunt went to be with his Lord, July 11, 2015, while being held by his son. He was born the son of Wallace and Lenora (Higgins) Lunt of Frenchboro and Southwest Harbor. Bob graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1962, when he then became a lobsterman and started seining for herring with his brother Carroll. In September 1974, he moved his family from Frenchboro to Tremont, where he went to work for the Astor Estate in Northeast Harbor as a gardener for 21 years. He then continued to be a caretaker for the Hamner Estate from 1995-2001. As his health started to decline, he retired from caretaking and went to work at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in the cafeteria, where he made many friends and had a joke to tell every day. In 2008, he left the hospital to be fully retired. He is survived by his wife of 53 years as of July 28, Earlene F. Lunt; children, Kevin Lunt of Hancock, Bobbi Abraham of Ellsworth, and Karen Bowden and husband, Greg, of Penobscot; grandchildren, Briana and Logan Lunt of Hancock, Cameron Wilkinson of Ellsworth, Ross Bowden and wife, Kristina, of Penobscot, and Josh Wilkinson and wife Ada of Japan; two 'adopted' step-grandchildren, Julie Whitcomb and son Kole; great-grandchildren, Selena, Serenity and Paxton, all of Ellsworth; brother, Carroll Lunt and wife Hazel of Bass Harbor; many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be sadly missed by his best friend Tom Farley. He was predeceased by his parents; sons, Gary Lunt and Ralph A. Lunt; sister, Hilda Newman; and brother, Al Lunt."
