"The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 29 April 2014": "Salem, N.H. - Frances B. (Bunker) Pilch, 84, of Salem, N.H., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston. Frances was born April 30, 1929, in South Gouldsboro and was the daughter of Fritz H. Bunker and Thelma (Potter) Bunker.
She attended schools in South Gouldsboro and Winter Harbor and graduated from Maine Central Institute in Lewiston in 1947. There she met and married Frank W. Pilch of Lawrence, Mass., her husband of 49 years. Frances worked in the Lawrence area, retiring from the payroll department at Lawrence General Hospital in 1989 to spend more time with her grandson, Matthew. Frances retained her love of the seacoast and rural areas of New England. She loved nature and especially enjoyed watching the birds and deer near her home with her cat, Alley. One of her favorite activities was picking cranberries and blueberries. Frances was a talented cook and homemaker, accomplished in quilt-making, knitting, sewing, rug-braiding and wreath-making. She was particularly known for her homemade pies, cranberry sauce, bread-and-butter pickles, pierogi and hand-grated horseradish that she generously shared with friends and family. She was an avid reader who had a lifelong appreciation for the poetry of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Robert Frost. She attended St. Matthews Church in Windham and for many years was involved in numerous charitable activities, including serving as a volunteer at the Shepherds Pantry food pantry in Windham. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America from 1959 until 2002, serving as treasurer of the local organization until it disbanded that year. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1996. She is survived by daughters, Julianne Gacioch and her husband, Richard, of North Andover, Mass.; Janice Pilch of Metuchen, N.J.; and Joan Pilch of Salem, N.H.; son, John Pilch, of Salem, N.H.; and grandson, Matthew McCarron, of Melrose, Mass.; by her brother, Walter Bunker, of Ellsworth; sister Dorothy Dubowick, of Scarborough; and many nieces and nephews."

[12934] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]. 15 November 2021": "Susan Jean Hutchins of Penobscot passed away at home surrounded by her twin sister and nephews on Nov. 12, 2021, following a hard-fought battle with complications of multiple myeloma cancer. Sue was born April 26, 1956, at Castine Hospital, the daughter of Berwyn Hale and Natalie (Dodge) Hutchins of Penobscot. She was a 10th-generation Mainer and a lifelong resident of Penobscot. Sue graduated from George Stevens Academy in the Class of 1974. Shortly after that, Sue began her 47-year career at Maine Maritime Academy. Much of her time at MMA was in the finance and information technology departments, and due to declining health, she retired in 2021. Over those 47 years, she was truly thankful for the many lifelong friendships she made and the opportunities she was presented at such a great college. Sue also enjoyed time with her family: picnics and gatherings on Islesboro and watching her nephews and the 'grands' in their sports and activities. And its true that theres a special relationship between twins, and Sal and Sue experienced this during their lifetime. Even in those times when their opinions may have differed, they were there always to support each other. For those who knew Sue, she was always on the move. She loved the outdoors and spent thousands of hours maintaining her and her sisters home and property. She took much pride in maintaining immaculate lawns and vegetable gardens: there was never a blade of grass out of place, and you couldnt find a weed if you tried. She also got the biggest kick when total strangers would stop and tell her how beautiful the lawns were. She always had a paintbrush or a polish cloth in hand, making sure everything was in top form. Sue was predeceased by her dad, mom and older brother, Timothy P. Hutchins. She is survived by her twin sister, Sally Jo Hutchins of Penobscot, two very special nephews and their families - Eric O. Hutchins and his wife, Erin, and their daughters Ella and Layla of Brooksville and Ryan J. Hutchins and his wife, Amanda, and their sons Mackie and Augie of Falmouth, and many cousins and families on the Hutchins and Dodge sides of the family. Sue also loved cats, and she was predeceased by her most recent kitty of 19 years, Dusty."

[13556] Find A Grave Memorial 65165100 offers: "Stanley F. 'Rabbie' Stewart of Clarence passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at his home. He was 92. Born Nov. 16, 1918, in Ringgold, Pa., he was the son of the late Cameron M. and Annie A. Lingenfelter Stewart. On Nov. 3, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, he married Edythe M. Pierson who passed away on March 27, 1996. Stan was a 1938 graduate from Punxsutawney High School. He was of the protestant faith. Stan served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, where he became a prisoner of war. He also served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Stanley retired in 1962 at the rank of master sergeant. For his years of service, he was awarded the KS Medal, UNS Medal, NDS Medal, ACMB, EAMEC Medal, GC Medal with four Lapel Pins, World War II Victory Medal, AC Medal, ADS Medal, and AFLSA with four OLCs. Stan was employed as an aircraft mechanic for more than 25 years. After retirement, he worked for Wall Rope Co, in Beverly, repairing the machines that make rope. He also worked in helping design and develop the Chinook helicopters for Boeing-Vertol in Philadelphia. Stan was a life member of the Snow Shoe Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1544, life member of the Clarence American Legion Post 813, a member of the Moose Club 1565, Young Democratic Club in Clarence, and the 3 Point Sportsman Association in Clarence. He was a lifelong member of the Republican Party. His favorite pastime was spending time in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was the last of his generation. Stan is survived by his son, Jimmy S. Stewart and his wife, Debra, of Clarence, stepdaughters, Nancy L. Woodworth of Jacksonville, Fla., and Norma J. Assilin of Dumfries, Va. He also is survived by his nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, Stan was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister."
