Alfred, a World War II Airborn Glider Pilot, was a kind gentle man who loved his family and was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Alfred worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 37 years, was a Lake School bus driver for 22 years, and painted houses. He was a member of Greentown United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where he served as head usher and trustee. He was a member of the Over 60's, Akron Mens Garden Club and the American Legion. Alfred loved to work in his garden and yard. He will be missed, but our memories will be with us and treasured forever. He was preceded in death by his dear wife of 63 years, Marie; parents, Ira and Alma; brother, Ralph; and step father, Floyd Boyer. Alfred is survived by his daughter, Wanda (Bill) Rayman; grandchildren, Robin West and Scott (Tina) Rayman; great-grandchildren, Colton, Tabatha and John Anthony West, Madison and Austin Rayman; and many dear friends.
