Susia was a milliner; they were married eight years when she d. s. p. In the 1910 census WIlliam is a widower and a farmer, living with his daughter Thelma R. (age 27) and grandson Laurence W. Bridges (age 5, born in Massachusetts). The 1880 census shows him living with his wife in his parents' household - he is a butcher and his wife Rosella is "sewing". "Biographical review : containing life sketches of leading citizens of Somerset, Piscataquis, Hancock, Washington, and Aroostook counties, Maine (1898)", pp. 661-62: "William B. Clement, one of the stirring business men of Penobscot, Hancock County, was born in this town, March 26, 1851, son of William and Silvia (Leach) Clement. His paternal grandfather, Daniel Clement, a native of Vork, Me., and a farmer and fisherman, settled in Penobscot at an early date, and cleared from the wilderness a large farm located on the Goshen shore. William Clement, the father, was born at the homestead. In early life he was a seafaring man. After succeeding to the home farm, he carried it on for many years, and lived to be eighty-six years old. Silvia Clement, his wife, who was a daughter of John and Abigail Leach, became the mother of two sons - Frank M. and William B. Frank M. Clement, who resides at the homestead, successively married Addie Littlefield and Inez Yarnum, and has two daughters - Flora and Rose. After finishing his studies in the district schools William B. Clement engaged in farm-ing, lumbering, and butchering, and for a number of years has supplied the people of Castine with meat. He married Rose Snow-man, who died leaving two children - Addie and Dele. He has supported the Republican party in politics since he cast his first Presdential vote for U. S. Grant in 1872, and he has ably filled several town offices."

[53964] "Central Maine Newspapers," 27 July 2019: "Vassalboro - James Watson Gray, 98, of North Vassalboro, passed quietly away on July 22, 2019, surrounded by family members. He was born in Wesley, Maine on May 1, 1921, the son of Roger A. Gray and Minerva (Sharman) Gray. James attended grammar schools in Wesley and Northfield. He graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias in 1939 and Washington State Normal School in Machias in 1942. He served in The U.S. Army 4th Armored Division under General Patton from 1942 to 1945. After his military service, James attended the University of Maine, Orono, graduating in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, returning later to earn a Master of Arts degree in education in 1953. He was a teaching principal in Lamoine and for over 30 years taught mathematics at Waterville High School, retiring in 1983. James married Janet Marilyn Fennelly in 1948. He had a lifelong love of hunting, the outdoors, and wildlife. For many years he raised a wide variety of game birds as a hobby. He was a member of Ronco-Goodale Post #126 of the American Legion, and also a member of Negumkeag Lodge, No. 166, F. & A. M. (Free and Accepted Masons). He was predeceased by his former wife in 1991; his son Robert and his wife Lucille, his son Lawrence and his wife Donna; his brother Allen Gray and his wife Prudence Bartley Gray, his brother L. Austin Gray, his sister Agnes Diffin and her husband Darrell Diffin, his sister Maxine Robbins and her husband Gerald Robbins; and special family friend Frances Richards. James is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and special family friends Helen Taylor and her family."
