It states: ' In 1762, John Small came from Cape Elizabeth and settled on the lot below the creek, near the Methodist meeting-house in Millbridge. His son Elisha, afterward so well known as Deacon Small, was then four or five years old. He was the oldest son by a second wife. He had several older half-brothers.
