His residence was at the NE corner of Water and Green Streets in Castine. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 3 May 1975, p. 19: "Castine - Arthur Conner, 82 ,died at a Penobscot nursing home May 2 after a long illness. He was born in Penobscot July 29, 1892, the son of Ezra and Ada Ordway Conner. He was a past master and life member of the Hancock AF & AM. He belonged to the Unitarian Church and the Pioneers of New England Telephone Co. He leaves: his wife, Carrie (Gross) Conner of Castine; one son, Harry Conner of Madison; three daughters, Vera Lee of Old Town, Olive Marks of Blue Hill, Ethel Rolens of Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson."

[5873] John received lands, titles and Dudley Castle through his wife at the death of her brother, John de Somery, without issue. John was a knight in the retinue of his brother-in-law; he later alienated the castle and manor of Dudley to Hugh le Despencer by deed 19 Oct 1325, but this grant (extorted from him by force while he was imprisoned) was cancelled in 1327 on the accession of Edward III, and the property was restored to the Sutton Dudleys. In addition to John their heir, they had Margaret who married Roger Hilary.
