A file in ancestry.com in 2014 offers:
Simon Huntington , like his brother Christopher, spent his youth, probably, with his mother in Windsor. If the Norwich records are authority, he was born in England, in the year 1629, and of course was not far from four years of age when the family came to this country.
He seems to have possessed the spirit, and to have shared the fortunes of his brother Christopher. With him he appears at Saybrook, where, in October 1653, he married Sarah, daughter of John Clarke, of Saybrook, and later of Milford. In 1660 he joins the colonists who settled Norwich, and thenceforward stands among the first of that important settlement, both in church and state.
Here his house lot was also in a central and commanding position, and the records show him to have been a large land-holder, and in worldly matters, an enterprising man.
He was chosen, soon after the removal to Norwich, deacon of Mr. Fitch's church, in which office he served with acceptance, until, in consequence of his infirmities, he was succeeded by his son, in 1696.
In 1674, he, with that other veteran and tried pioneer, Thos. Leffingwell, represented Norwich in the general court, and he again was a member of the body in 1685.
In 1686 the town grant him and his sons thirty acres of pasture, westward of Goodman Sluman.
In 1690, and again in 1696, he was the townsman. In 1694 he was appointed a committee to treat with Mr. Jabez Fitch, with respect to his helping and succeeding his father in the work of the ministry. In the same year he was also on a committee to search out and report on the deficiencies in the records.
In 1697 he was one of the committee to seat the meeting house. In 1700 he was appointed on a commission to deed anew, lands about whose titles disputes had arisen, or would be likely to arise.
In 1703, April 27, he and his son Simon deed away thirty acres of pasture land, west of the great plains, to John Gifford.
The following record is copied from the Windham probate records.
To all Christian people to whom these presents may come: Know ye that I, Simon Huntington, sen., of Norwich, in the county of New London, in the colony of Connecticut, in New-England, have of my free will, given, granted, unto my son Joseph Huntington, of the same town, county and colony aforesaid, and do by these presents, give, grant, alienate and pass over my whole right, title, interest in and unto our thousand acre interest, or one allotment, in the new plantation, above Norwich, that was willed by Joshua, Sachem, son of Uncas. 1, the aforesaid Simon Huntington, have freely and absolutely given, alienated and passed over unto the aforesaid Joseph Huntington, my whole allotment, situated and beina in the southeast quarter of the aforesaid plantation above Norwich.

[60371] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 12 May 2023: "Lincoln, Maine - On February 2, 2023, Ron peacefully piloted his final flight to Heaven in his 1946 Aeronca champ. He was born December 14, 1931, in Brookton, Maine, the son of Hawley Otto Thornton and Doris Odella (Wheaton) Thornton. Ron attended schools in Brookton and Lee, Maine. Ron was an expert marksman. He served in the U.S. Army and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant, earning his Combat Infantry Badge during the Korean War. Upon returning home he worked as a Maine Guide, guiding for Wheaton's Sporting Camps. In 1972 he, along with his brother Paul, established Thornton Brothers, Inc where he became a highly successful businessman and car salesman. He worked tirelessly for 24 years before retiring from the family business in 1996. Ron had a passion for flying, earning his pilot's license in the 1960's. He bought his first float/ski and wheel airplane known as the 'Pink Panther' with his brother Paul. He piloted hundreds of business flights to auto auctions and the Chrysler dealerships in Worcester MA, and family fishing trips to Snake Pond. He built two airplanes with his good friend, Andy Stinson, one being his pride and joy, a 1946 Aeronca Champ float plane. Ron was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt, fish, and camp, especially at Baskahegan and Rainbow lakes. Ron was a quiet, kind man who loved helping people. He was a Master Mason for 55 years, helping provide bikes to elementary students, and was a life member of the Northern Penobscot Shrine Club, helping to raise money for Shriners Hospitals to provide orthopedic and burn care to children. He was a member of the Lincoln Congregational Church Men's Club, where he worked each year on the River Drivers' Supper and was a member of The Lincoln Lions Club, providing medical equipment for area residents. Ron was a founding member of the Lincoln Airport Association, helping to secure funding to build and maintain the airport. Ron and Sylvia enjoyed wintering in Florida and Aruba where they spent countless hours of quality time at the beach and with friends. Ron was predeceased by his wife of nearly 50 years, Sylvia (Vassar) Thornton; parents, Hawley and Doris (Wheaton) Thornton; brother, Philip Thornton; cousin, Linwood Bubar; dear friends Pop and Diana Downs, Herman Peabody and Andy Stinson; and canine companion, Sophie. He is survived by his son, Hawley 'Tim' Thornton and daughter-in-law, Ann; daughter, Laurie Ramsay and son-in-law, Kirk; brother, Paul Thornton and sister-in-law, Joyce; sister-in law, Gayle Thornton; granddaughters, Rebecca Levesque and husband, Matt; Lindsay Dolloff and husband, Jon; Jade Ramsay; Nia Abbott and fiance, Justin Harvey; great-grandchildren Everett Levesque, Nolan and Sylvia Dolloff, Elia Ramsay-Fox, Edyn and Avalyn Brawn, Wyatt and Paxton Albert, and Charlotte and Alexis Abbott; cousin, Earl Bubar; and canine companions, Poppy 'Ladybug' and Ranger."
