"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 18 March 1995," p. 16: "Bar Harbor - Ellen June (Fletcher) Mace, 71, died at a Bar Harbor hospital March 27, 1995. She was born at Bangor June 17, 1923, the daughter of Martin and Mildred Laura (Tredwell) Fletcher. She retired after 22 years from the Mount Desert Island Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. Ellen enjoyed gardening and the love of her family. She was predeceased by her father her loving husband of 50 years, Melvin L. Mace, in 1991; one son, Donald; one brother, Clyde; one sister, Elizabeth. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law. Robert and Linda (Hodgdon) Mace, Richard and Patricia (Turnbull) Mace, Bruce Mace, all of Bar Harbor, Donald Mace of Town Hill; one sister, Patricia Godfrey of Lake City, Fla.; special sister-in-law, Helen Mace of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren."
