[23106] NEHGR, April, 2000, p. 223 reports that Margaret is "daughter and heiress, Lady Botreaux, suo jure." Find A Grave Memorial 101360077 reports: Margaret was fourty at the death of her father, and brought great wealth as well as a vast estate covering Somerset, Moels and Botreaux to her husband in marriage. She was considered to be a remarkable lady, a most energetic wife, and a much tried and devoted mother. When her son, Sir Robert, was taken prisoner in the Battle of Castillon, she went to great lengths to gather immense sums for his freedom, and was able to see his return after seven years and four months. Her strength was again tested when the same son faced the executioner when fighting on the Lancastrian side at Hexham, beheaded by the Yorks in 1463. Six years later, she lost her grandson, Sir Thomas Hungerford, executed at Salisbury in 1469. After all her effots to abide by her husband's wishes concerning their burials at a fabulous cost, her tomb was completely destroyed in the years to come. Her seal remains, it depicts her as sitting in a laced bodice and cover chief, an open book on her lap, and the label "Myne trouth assured", then the inscription of "Sigillum Margarete d' ne Hungerford de Botreaux."

[20085] Karen's obituary: "Karen Barbara Owen (Salzman) of Milton, Georgia passed away on September 14, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was 64 years old. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a dear friend to countless people. Karen was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1959, to Bob and Dorothy Salzman, and grew up in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. After graduating from Prospect High School, she attended Eastern Illinois University and then graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Karen married the love of her life, John Owen, in 1988. Together with their 3 children, Jenni, Andy, and Jack, they lived in Lake Zurich, Illinois, Overland Park, Kansas, Barrington, Illinois, and then moved to Milton, Georgia in 2008. Wherever life brought them, she made their homes beautiful, inside and out. She had an impeccable interior decorating taste, her love of flowers fueled her passion for gardening, and her love for cooking resulted in many delicious meals that ended up in her 'keeper' file that she shared with friends and family. Karen and John enjoyed traveling and visiting many beautiful places worldwide. Lovers of country music, they particularly enjoyed their many trips to Nashville with friends where she accumulated an extensive collection of cowboy boots. She and her family also shared a love of sports; she was born a Cubs fan, then Kansas City Chiefs, and ultimately an Atlanta Braves fan upon moving to Georgia. With Jack and Andy attending the Universities of Georgia and Alabama many Saturdays were filled with SEC football and tailgating. One of Karens favorite sayings was 'The Road to My Heart is Paved With Paw Prints'. Chipper, Charlie, Gracie (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), and Callie (Brittany) have all paved that road to her heart. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her devoted husband, John, their beloved children, Jenni, Andy, and Jack, her brother, Bob Salzman (Peggy Gartin), and her nieces and nephews Emily, Rob, and Carly Salzman. A Celebration of Life will be held at their home in Milton, Georgia on Saturday, October 21st."

[41757] The unverified Owen file in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "When William Willford was born on March 15, 1775, in York, Pennsylvania, his father, Joseph, was 31 and his mother, Mary, was 25. He married Sarah Rich in 1804. They had 20 children in 19 years. He died on October 6, 1842, in Tiro, Ohio, at the age of 67." Find A Grave memorial 57190097 offers: "Son of "Mary Campbell (colonial settler) taken captive as a child by Native Americans". "Mary Campbell married Joseph Willford in 1770 in Mt. Pleasant Township. Some sources place this in what was then York, but is now Adams County, Pennsylvania. The same sources have Mary and Joseph Willford continuing in York/Adams County from 1770 until they moved to Washington (now Greene) County, Pennsylvania. But tax rolls from Lack Township, situated in the Tuscarora Valley, Cumberland (now Juniata) County strongly suggest that they lived in this township from 1766 until at least 1782. A possible candidate for the place of their marriage is a town a few miles southeast of Mifflintown and adjacent to Lack Township which was later (from 1847) known as Mount Pleasant. Some time during or after 1782 they moved to Bald Ridge Farm, Dunkard Township, in present-day Greene County, Pennsylvania. Mary and Joseph Willford had seven children: five sons, Samuel, Daniel, William, Dougal, and Joseph, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret.
