Evelyn's obituary: "Lamoine-Evelyn H. Linscott left this world one month shy of her 91st birthday by her own terms on February 10, 2024 after a short illness at an Ellsworth hospital. Her oldest son, daughter-in-law & granddaughter were with her at the end.
She was born to Louetta & Earl Hanscom of Sedgwick ME on March 9, 1933 at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She graduated in 1950 from George Stevens Academy as salutatorian of her class. She lived & worked in Ellsworth at the Paul Tapley Insurance Agency, and met her future husband, Richard Linscott. They married in May 1956. They had two sons, Jeffrey and Mark. She was an avid vegetable gardener and had two huge gardens that she loved tending to. If you were lucky to get some of her jarred green beans or the massive potatoes & tomatoes, you were in Heaven. She loved to solve crossword puzzles, she always had a good book to read, and there was an ongoing jigsaw puzzle in progress in the back room. She would rather be outside than inside and until just a few years ago, she was mowing her own lawn and trimming the flowering bushes. When Dick was still alive, they would go to yard sales all over Hancock County on the weekends - she was the yard sale Queen. She was predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, Orrin Hanscom and Earl Hanscom, Jr., along with her older sister, Katherine Hanscom-Rainey, who only recently passed in 2019 at the age of 97. Her husband, Dick passed away in 2008 followed by her younger son Mark in 2009. Evelyn leaves behind her older son, Jeffrey, daughter-in-law, Pam and granddaughter, Kelsey with her husband, Stephen & great-grandson, Marcus; along with Marks daughters, Lauren & great-grandson, Alex and Nicole with fianc, Sam. She also has two very dear sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews who are very special to her heart. Per her request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at the Brooklin Cemetery (where the rest of her family currently reside) later in the Spring."
