[9639] Find A Grave memorial 35090786 offers Francis' obituary: "Francis L. 'Slim' Thumma, 93, of 6926 N. Stalworth Drive, Peoria, died at 6:13 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at his residence. Born March 5, 1916, in Columbia Falls, Mont., a son of John and Dorothy McAllister Thumma, he first married June Ellen Borgen on May 21, 1938, in Peoria. She died in Phoenix, Ariz., in September 1991. He later married Marian Zuercher Borgen on Dec. 1, 1993, in Phoenix. She survives. Also surviving are one son, James L. Thumma of Wilmington, Ohio; one daughter, Mary June Edwards of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one stepson, Peter Borgen of Maple Grove, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Constance Geick of Brimfield and Kathryn Lepoidevin of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Thumma was employed as an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad for 22 years, retiring in 1962. He later worked for the city of Phoenix, Ariz., as a real estate agent, retiring in 1975. He had been a member of Westchester Masonic Lodge 995 A.F. & A.M. in Westchester, Ill., since 1946. He attended Phoenix City College from 1972 to 1974. He was a member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria, where funeral services will be at noon Monday. The Rev. Wayne Shelksohn will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services Monday. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral services. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements." Francis m.
